Duet

Shadows stretch across his ribs in the half-light,
my fingers trace the curves of his chest.
His hand caresses the hollows of my neck
down the lines of my spine;
an ellipsis below my flesh.

The pale curves of her breasts,
beautiful spheres that ache under my tongue
whispering the notes and tones of her
across staves of bone.

Between two bodies, music awakens in the dark,
singing breaths and moaning duet,
rhythmic tunes between white sheets
A composition of love
between syncopated heart beats.
